DVD Q
Very good stuff from south America with a nice intro and complete menu.Full image with a very good quality for that year ( great restoration), same same for the sound. The show is very 70's, big spot lights, strange suit. But u will see Queen on a nice deco stage ( even a piano ) and the use of many cams for this " The night at The Opera " tour in december 24 th , 1975.u have many bonus : interviews....
Big surprise for fans...a new rock documentary with a good image, full of footages, interviews of musicians of Queen, journalists and staff ( roadies, manager, broadcaster...).To quote : " Showing on BBC Two at 10pm on 29th and 30th May the two one hour shows explore the remarkable story of Brian, Roger, John Deacon and Freddie Mercury - looking into the early struggles, huge obstacles, success, arguments, breakups, triumph, tragedy and an enduring legacy – all against a backdrop of brilliant music and stunning live performances. With an extensive archive of unseen footage (the producers uncovered Queen's first ever TV performance, missing believed wiped, and shown here for the first time) plus remarkable archive interviews with Freddie Mercury, the documentary is the band’s story in their own words – a compelling journey told with intelligence, wit, plenty of humour and painful honesty".The dvd has a menu to select part I or part II. U won't have subtitle, even in english.Funny to see Mercury as a young man , to see the evolution of the band. All the big shows from Hyde Park to Wembley.U will see Brian May in part I crying about his dad....so a truly doc. Even censored stuff like "bicycle race promo rushes" from 78 with naked women. ( looks a funny tour when u see pictures from the US tour).Well many things to see, to learn if u like Queen.
That's a old TV show recorded at the Pavillion de Paris, March 1st 1979. It's the QTV version, the best on the market but the video quality is so so ( very dark). A pro video show for diehard fans only. The set list is:We Will Rock You (Fast),Let Me Entertain You, Somebody To Love, Fat Bottomed Girls, You're My Best Friend,Now I'm Here, Don't Stop Me Now, If You Can't Beat Them, Spread Your Wings, Dreamer's Ball, Bohemian Rhapsody,Tie Your Mother Down, Sheer Heart Attack.
At least, a release of this great show. A show given in California on May, 1983.The band performed in the afternoon to a crowd of 500,000 people ( just have a look to the beginning of the show to understand) so don't expect a big light show at all.Kevin Dubrow was a great frontman but his red spandex, a rainbow t -shirt and red converse really ....sucks !Nonetheless, all the musicians are happy and play well , mostly the bass player Rudy Sarzo or the enthusiasm of the young Frankie Banali . The image is very clear in 4:3, full screen. The sound is good, the show is highly recommended.
