DVD H
I have a new version of this live and it's a better one. This show with Kiske is good.Get it !
A nice dvd limited at 1000 copy. A dvd witha nice menu & chapters. An image sometimes good, sometimes less. An image in 4:3. Many things inside like personal archieves and reviewing years of VHS and professionally quality footage of live shows & easy videos ("See No Evil" and " Last Train" or the Ashes festival ). Bonus features include footage of Neon Cross. Plus record pre-productions, rehearsals, tour footage, interviews in Japan 89 (quiet boring ) ...The raw section is raw, mostly the show in 85 with Larry Farkas & Robie Wolfe, the second show is unbearable ( better to look the live from "the last train tour" in 92).There's both good and bad...except for die hard fans.
HEAVEN & HELL IS: Ronnie James Dio: Vocals Tony Iommi: Guitar Geezer Butler: Bass Vinny Appice: Drums.Just to remind u it's Ronnie James Dio' s last filmed concert appearance before his death ( May 2010 ).As usual, Wacken is the biggest outdoor festival in Europe and also well known for the quality of their dvd's. Full screen image, really clear ( not easy due to many blue spots light). Big stage with a nice light show. Screens from each sides of the main stage, big drum kit, chains all over the stage...Don't expect too much from the performance like crazy jumps or stuff like that. They under mix the audience ?? The bonus section is not bad with french subtitle. It's many interiews of each musicians. U will learn how Ronnie met Tony ( thanks to Shanon "ozzy" Arden), the first song written "children of the sea".....track 3 on the dvd. Well, one more good product to get....
Many part in this official dvd " The last show", "the last week with Hanoi Rocks" a "Photo gallery" and "Subtitles" ( not a bad point).About the show, it's a really good surprise, i thought it will be a raw show with a poor sound. Don't worry about the quality, it's a colourful's show with an energic sound, lively but suit to the punky style of Hanoi Rocks. The stage is small but many lights, feathers, glam stage costumes worthy of 80's. Great presence, no slack period here, just a kick ass show! One more point to highlight, it's the good camerawork for such a small gig. Not easy to work when not many room.
Big release for fans of Hypocrisy with a show filmed and recorded in feb, 2010 at the Club Blue box. A nice theater with balcony, it's ideal to film a live show there. The light show is modern, many lights ( don't be epileptic) .The stage is medium size and the concert is sold out ! Everything was set for the show to go off well .The image is full size, 16:9 and clear . Good sound, huge prestation, the lights are in synergy with the music for a nice effect.U will get a video clip of "weed out the weak" as a bonus, a live video archive in fact. The documentary "20 years of chaos and confusion" is well done , many interview ith english subtitle of old musicians ( their first singer Masse of Dark Funeral),footage.....old videos extracts ( it was brutal death with satanic lyrics), the first logo of Hypocrisy has a pentagram. So , it's very interesting and complete for one time.
The dvd has a menu with chapters by images, well done.A show recorded at the Wacken during the day (sick !) for almost one hour. The image quality is very good ( except with the camera behind the drummer due to the daylight), full screen and the festival is incredible full ( many high view of the audience). The band is full of go but have many problem with the sound, not very cool for Andi to sing in this condition ( listen "helloween"), but by their attitude they make it quiet good.If u like perfect show, go on ur way !
Halford is a heavy metal band formed in 1999 by Rob Halford ( lead vocalist for Judas Priest),he formed the band to return to his heavy metal roots ( even his first solo project Fight was quiet heavy too and u can hear one song that night ).
Halford Live At Saitama Super Arena features a multi-HD cam production and 5.1 surround-audio recording
of the band’s Tokyo, Japan performance October 10, 2010. The image is full screen with an excellent dvd quality.Even too many change of plans to make it lively. The atmospheric lighting is just correct. The capacity audience is incredibly full ( the old band Judas Priest is cult in Japan that's why he played that night some of their songs).Just one point to highlight, Halford is not talkative ( even if subtitle are in english), too serious for such veteran of stage.Except that, if u like heavy & Halford, go for it !
Be aware, this is not recorded by the festival himself but by fans so it's a bootleg from the pit (Multi-cam bootleg) . The dvd has a menu with chapters. A show of Helloween in the evening in the open air sweden Rock Festival, Norje, Sweden in june 2011.A show with a nice stage with nice light show & screens but the way to film is boring (except if u like real bootleg to feel the vibe). Here is the set list: 1. Are You Metal?, Eagle Fly Free, March of Time, Guitar Solo (Sascha Gerstner) , Where the Sinners Go, Drum Solo (Daniel Löble) ,I'm Alive,Keeper of the Seven Keys / The King for a 1000 Years / Halloween,Steel Tormentor,Future World,I Want Out, Dr. Stein and to end with a Bonus band interview after the show ( less than 10 mn).For fans only !
